Organic Gardening Class

Dear Homeschoolers,

I have received a grant to teach an Organic Gardening class for homeschoolers.  I am looking for 30+ students.  This will be open to students ages 5 and up.  At this point, I am planning on conducting the class in Akron with hands on gardening!  The kids will be planting seeds and watching how everything grows.

With the grant we will NEED to do a presention in Wooster in April 2014.

If you have students interested in participating, please contact me with any questions at DecadentChocolate@gmail.com.

Thank you!

  1. Did you talk to Heritage Co-op in Wadsworth about offering a class?

  4. Great ready to plant your Fall and Spring vegetables. Learn what Organic really means, the differences in the types of soil, how to keep pests off your plants and more! I need to decide quickly if there is enough interest for me to teach this class or if I need to return the grant money and let someone else put it to use? Thank you!

  5. I have a daughter that will be 6 this Fall. I believe she would be interested in this, if it is not too far from us. Thanks, let me know how it is going...

  7. As many of you are aware, I was awarded a grant to help teach organic gardening to homeschoolers. Unfortunately, at this time it does not appear that others are interested in seeing this happen. I really DO NOT want to return the money because The Ohio State Extension Office awarded it to a homeschool group (me) and I feel it makes homeschoolers look unreliable if we are unable to follow through with the necessary students and instructional site. Please EMAIL me if you are interested in pursuing this type of instruction. I plan on this being a thorough class with hands on gardening. Again, we are looking for 30 students, aged 5 and up. I will be deciding next week to move forward or to return the $$, so another group may take advantage of the opportunity. Thank you! Kim

  8. As things turn out, there was not enough interest for the Organic Gardening class, therefore I will be returning the grant money I received to teach this class. I am disappointed as I truly was looking forward to offering this class to homeschool students. Thank you for your patience and my continued communication about it. If you are interested in learning about gardening, I am HAPPY to share my knowledge, so please feel free to contact me :) Thank you!
