Portfolio Reviews/Assessors

Hi All!

Just in case you are NEW to homeschooling, here are some pertinent details:

At the end of the school year, homeschoolers need to have a portfolio review completed by an assessor or a testing.  We prefer portfolio reviews.  Assessors want to see your student(s)' work from the beginning of the year, mid and at the end of the year.  This can include:

lists of books read
worksheets
workbooks
art work
photos from field trips
etc…anything that would help the assessor evaluate your student's work.

They are usually pretty easy going and just want to see progress in their learning and skills.  They will complete and sign a paper stating that the student is ready to move to the next grade, usually satisfactory.  Nothing against the student, but with the school systems, that is all they really need to know is that they passed.  You will then send this paper along with your intent to homeschool for the following year (2014-2015) together to your school's superintendent :)

I hope this helps?  If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me at DecadentChocolate@gmail.com or (330) 630-3837.  Thank you!

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."  Phillipians 4:19
